Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or mobile connection.
* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.

App no longer appears in my app drawer or on my home screen, and when I search my device it doesn't appear. However, when I search the play store it says it's installed and gives me the option to open the app. I'll be really upset if something happens and I have to go through some pita process to recover a bunch of accounts that use two-factor with Google authenticator.

It used to be so easy to go in & update things in the Authenticator, or even delete things. Now it's impossible! I can never find where to go & I'm stuck w/ 3 Google Authenticator authenticators, because it wouldn't set it up correctly the 1st/2nd time! Why can't there be an edit, or a link to the edits in the app? Why do you try & give a QR code to the phone that's trying to set it up, or put spaces it the other when you know they aren't accepted?! Weren't you supposed to get better not worse?

It works fine until you need to transfer codes. Had to factory reset my phone. Transfered the codes to my tablet, verified they went over. Reset my phone, opened the app on my tablet and watched them flash they were there and then gone, they just all disappeared. Now I have to spend a day recovering all of my accounts because your app just decided to remove them.
