I like that I can use my 3rd party navigation app, and hands free talk & text works well. 4 stars for not being able to find a way to read media files off the memory card. If there is a way, it isn't obvious to me, and I consider myself fairly tech-savvy. Spotify and Pandora work fine, but sometimes I just want to hear music saved on my phone without the worry of needing an aux cable.
Great when it works. Seems to have a few bugs when data connection is not available. Ex: Recent places not available, difficulty rerouting, new destination search limited to address book only etc. We are travelling through the UK in a rental and it's nice to have the map on a big screen. Overall very good but needs some work to bring it on par with native Google maps or play functionality .
This app is amazing! Makes controlling my music and navigation so much easier while on the move. The only problem is after about an hour every trip it looses connection and won't connect again back to my car screen. I have taken my car to be checked and its fine, so it must be the software. Its a shame as this is without a doubt a 5* app but when it only works half the time then it isnt worth it
It seems like Google Assistant is only partially working and/or not fully integrated when Android Auto is running. There's some commands I use normally, that don't work, or work right, while it's running. Also, when I use voice commands to play music using Play Music, it seems like it's maybe running a separate instance or something, as it doesn't always play songs that I haven't downloaded to my phone. But sometimes it will. It would also be really nice if a speedometer with local speed limits was on the dashboard, similar to Waze. Other than that, it's okay. Everything is nice and big and mostly readable at a glance.
Back to liking the app better. Did some research and found that making USB Debugging active corrected the issue. I also checked on Hyundai's web site and found an update that needs to be completed. As debugging has temporarily averted the issue AND the family is taking the car out of town, I'll wait to do the updates. Thanks for the app programing staff for the contact, I do appreciate your help.
Running on a Nexus 6. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 is that it doesn't work on my in car entertainment center over Bluetooth. I have to plug it in. Also, it would be nice if it let me scroll through Spotify playlists, but I'm not sure if that's Google's fault or Spotify, so I'm not holding that against them. Otherwise, the functionality and voice commands are great!
• Android Auto now works with any car! Use it directly on your phone screen
• Just say “Ok Google” to use voice commands, don’t need to touch the screen first
• Scroll through song lists more easily with the new letter jump feature
• Swipe to dismiss cards on the homepage screen
