It's quite handy. The GPS is pretty decent nowadays, has helped me a lot. The voice texting is pretty handy. Really need to be able to adjust volumes in settings somewhere. The volume for the alert that you received a text is WAY too loud. IF you can catch it, you can turn the volume down for future notifications but only until you turn off the vehicle. Then it starts all over again.

It works good most (95%) of the time. It occasionally locks up or freezes and has to either have the phone reconnected, the airplane mode cycled, or power cycle the head unit. You can't count on or know which will need to be done to get it working again. Messaging does work with the Signal app, but works better with Android messaging. It also works good with Spotify but doesn't always pick up where it left off. However, I suspect that's a Spotify issue though and not an Android auto issue.

Must dangerous app to use in your car bar none! When a message comes in while driving, you now have to look at your car screen, and press a button to make it play the text message, making it worse than driving while texting on a phone. Many years ago MS Mobile had this figured out with any Bluetooth device. It would say you have an incoming text, would you like me to read it, or ignore it. Today, Google still can't figure it out SMH.
