I love the idea of Android Auto. I have access to some of my phone apps on my in dash car stereo. I can answer calls, hear & respond to texts, get directions from Google Maps. These are great things. However, until very recently, I was able to listen to my car radio (for local traffic, news, weather) and hear voice prompts from Maps through my car's speakers. This feature no longer works. I can only hear the prompts over a data using Bluetooth connected source. This really annoys me.

As helpful as it is frustrating. Loves to disconnect and refuse to reconnect; I then have to restart the whole phone and start over again, then it works fine. Really obnoxious when I'm already in motion and suddenly adrift and spending more time getting it to work than keeping my eyes on the road, but I'd give it an 80% success rate. Generally if I connect it to my car with maps already going, set the phone somewhere it will stay still, it works fine.

So much potential and the utility that is derived from a Auto/OS is so great and necessary it is worth the struggle. This gen is definitely useful and appreciated but looking forward to further improvements. Applications may vary by car, but on my MX5 the interface is limited to a few buttons and a wheel. The learning curve was long for me with little support and I felt a less intuitive path. I have to say though once I got the hang of mauevering around It was much simpler than I thought.
