It is super helpful! I love how it enlarges everything for faster button presses and navigation. It integrates well with all I need while I am driving. Google Maps, Google Play Music and a nice 'Home' page to display a summary of all the important information. The feature where it tells you who texted you, and allows you to have it read the message and then reply. Then reading back your message you composed and allowing you to send it is amazing! Super helpful and allows me to keep my hands on the wheel and eyes on the road!!

A very cool app if your car supports it. Makes communication while driving really easy. My only complaint would be it lacks call integration for apps that use data to make a call, like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. You can send texts through the above mentioned apps but calls are not possible yet. Other than that wonderful app with Integration for everything you need while driving

Absolutely amazing. Well layed out, exceptionally user friendly and Google's voice commands work amazing. If I can make one suggestion, please have an option to enable or disable tolls as an overriding feature similar to turning traffic on. I live near a long toll route stretching across my province and every time I set up directions I have to ask it again after to avoid toll routes.

I love it! My only complaint is that when I send text messages it includes part of the Google Assistant's dialogue. For example Google asks "What's the message?" And if I respond "Call me back" it will compose the following message "Message call me back". I love everything else. It helps me be safe by not touching my phone. I wish I could play games like this and that or would you rather. That would keep my kids entertained. Also it would be great if I could use two languages like on my phone.

This app is pretty good. I like the new interface updates, and the assistant is totally helpful. My one beef is that I wish I had more ability to navigate apps with the car screen. I'll be in the middle of a podcast on my phone, switch to the car, and Android Auto will start the podcast over again from the beginning. And if that's the case, give me a scroll bar on the car screen so I can skip to where I was. I'll sit there in the car and tap the "jump ahead 30 seconds" button 100 times

It's definitely better than having nothing, but the interface is clunky and nothing like android on any of my devices. I wanted to use it for maps, but it doesn't have anywhere near the ability of my phone even. Wish it would let me run the Garmin app through it. About all I use it for now is displaying extra gauges (like engine temp). Hopefully it will show some significant improvements in the near future.

Generally works well and handy. I wish one could search for specific things instead of just categories in Maps or browse Google Play via the vehicle head unit. I get that Google doesn't want the driver monkeying with those things while driving, but some of us have passengers that can do it. Speaking of which, I don't like the addition of the "must be in park" feature, because passengers. But overall I still like it.

Running on a Nexus 6. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 is that it doesn't work on my in car entertainment center over Bluetooth. I have to plug it in. Also, it would be nice if it let me scroll through Spotify playlists, but I'm not sure if that's Google's fault or Spotify, so I'm not holding that against them. Otherwise, the functionality and voice commands are great!

Works flawlessly with my note 5 and avh-2330nex pioneer deck. I like the layout and functions even better on my 7 inch display! Bought this stereo specifically for Android auto, and Android auto didn't let me down. Highly recommend. Little tip if you have a samsung gear s3 watch. Unplug your phone from your radio before you shut your car off, or it disconnects your bluetooth from your watch.

Its pretty good. The one gripe I have is it doesn't let you utilize your phone while its in Android Auto mode unless you exit or unplug the device. I've tried to exit but then it reconnects. Sometimes I'm trying to access something that's not compatible to Android Auto. And I understand that they may be trying to make the driving experience safer but what about when I'm stopped or parked. I just wish that would be better. Other than that its been good so far.

Could be more feature-rich. Does all the basics the car does already but has better maps. Better voice control. It would be nice if it could display pictures or videos from msgs but I realize could be a distraction (doesn't seem to stop anybody anyways). Update: Sometimes doesn't connect properly with new phone LG V30, but 90% of the times works first try. Voice control of Spotify is very good but sometimes can't find songs if they are compound words. IE Evernight calls up Every Night instead.

AA works great with my Sync 3 system. Only 1 bug I seen so far. Using Waze for navigation is buggy. It forgets where your located & does not work. I did have it work 1 time & worked great. Waze just needs buggs worked out. Add weather plus more apps like Apple has plus fix Waze & I'll give it strong 5-star

Great app. Makes buttons large and easy to press, and greatly simplifies the interface. Sometimes I have to repeat myself a few times when replying to a message, and it doesn't play well with Play Music when I have it set to only play music that's already been downloaded. I'd like a little bit more integration with Play Music in general, such as the ability to search. No issues otherwise.

This app does what is needed. Navigatiin interfaces with Google Maps and works fine. Its far better than the Nav Package in my Toyota. Sometimes voice activation takes a few tries but that could be the Samsung S7 or Android. Voice text messaging is just 'ok' as I haven't found a way to add punctuation; so separate sentences become one long sentence that doesn't make sense (e.g. "On my way. ETA 6:10" becomes "On my way eta six ten".) Still, the msg is there. Rated 4 stars as there's room for improvement but overall it's a good package.

Lovely app. Why not add the Napster app? It's pretty popular. Also it'd be cool to have some settings for the app as far as being able to not have the Maps go into nighttime mode if I'm running my car lights on automatic. It really should go off the local time. Anyway, good app. I enjoy a lol of the features just wish more content would be added. Add the NAPSTER APP PLEASE.

There is not YT Music. Not all YouTube music is on Google Play Music. It they could integrate that it would be nice. When using voice on my phone I can tell it to play a specific song, but on AA it only goes based off of artist or album it seems. AA is somewhat featureless. There is less controls because it is suppose to be hands free. Fine app! I enjoy using it and I like the style.

This is great app and it works pretty well with my Ford Sync 3. Seems like the updates have taken care of some of the quirks along the way. I wish there was a way to integrate a separate phone. I also wish it was available on my galaxy tab E. I usually use Google maps and Pandora offline and I would highly recommend it!

Great layout and impressive voice recognition and response from Google assistant. My biggest problem is that you can't scroll so far without being stopped. This is seemingly a safety feature but actually makes you focus more on the screen while trying to figure out where a song or album is. Needs an option to turn this off.

The features enabled through this app are very helpful and greatly enhance the driving experience. However, there is a noticeable delay (1-2 seconds) between the selection of an icon (navigation, music, home, etc.) and the deployment of its feature on the vehicle's infotainment system. Once this issue is rectified this app will be highly deserving of all five stars.

I like the usability with Google, but it still has issues working with Waze-even with all settings being correct. Also, it has frozen on 2 different screens. Using in 2017 Kia Sorento. Dec. 2017 Update: with the last update for Waze, as well as an update for Android Auto, Waze has been working great! I'm looking forward to more updates to the program as time goes on to fine-tunethe app even more.

Overall I am very happy with this app. I installed a Kenwood stereo in my truck that was Android Auto ready. Set up was easy and the UI is pretty good. My only complaints are that when I get a call and I am in the app, I can't hear the caller. If they call while I am on the radio screen it works great. My other complaint is that it has to be plugged into the deck to use features like Maps. It would be nice if that worked over Bluetooth.

Everything I wanted in my car infotainment unit. I almost never drive my car without first plugging in my phone for android auto. Please make it work over Bluetooth for car infotainment units! Also would love if voice search worked a little better. Also if you could get only recent messages from one person rather than having to listen to everyone, or if you could get it to read like the last 5-10 messages from a single contact. But, small beans, I love it!

Works extremely well with new Samsung S7 and 2017 Subaru. Only glitched out three times so far in 5000 miles, static from stereo. Otherwise perfect! Update: Now using LG V30, nearly 9000 miles. No more static glitches in music, except when reversing camera kicks on, will hear half second of static sometimes. Usually flawless! Only wish I could navigate on head unit screen without USB connected.

Handy but needs work. Sometimes it crashes when I'm on BT. (I have a Pixel 2). This did not happen when my phone was physically connected. It would be nice to be able to preset the cards that appear. The card that I can touch to get directions Home shows how far it is to home when I open the app but does not change as my distance from home changes. Also, I would like to change font or card size.

This is a great app and I thoroughly enjoy it. There are some things that I would change such as the interface between satellite radio and Waze so that the song title and artist flashes on the screen for a moment but that is a minor issue. I look forward to the updates in the future and feel that Google does a great job in providing what the customers are looking for.

Great great great product. I forked up the extra couple hundred for my new pioneer to have AA and it was worth every cent. I turned my 05 jeep into a smart car with the most up to date maps. Didn't give 5 starts because install was i bit tricky with phone settings and getting the right wiring.

Love the ability to keep my eyes on the road. One aggravating element is the talk to text. She will send texts that start with the word "message" or "what's the message" sometimes she will repeat your text again after you have told her to send. Not a major deal breaker but a pain if you are trying to be efficient. Fix that and it's awesome!

Good and easy interface which provides a real hands free experience. Google assistant understands my question/directions well and I am able to call, listen to my text messages and reply to them without taking my hands off the steering wheel and eyes off the road. Not all music players work with Android Auto yet that's the only downside at the moment (e.g. I use Saavn for hindi songs and it's not integrated with AA yet). I m sure the experience will only get better from here.

The application world's as expected. My phone (Nexus 5X) did have problems connecting to my car but I found a fix on the internet. Other newer phones experienced no such problems (I've tested it with two different Samsung Galaxy S8 versions). Love the full Android integration and exceptional voice control.

It is a simple interface that is easy to use. That said it limits or removes nearly all of the functions a user is used to being able to use: if someone sends an address by SMS, you can to memorize the address as it reads it or you have to unplug the phone, exit the app, open the message, open the address in Maps, then reconnect the phone, open the map app and select the address. There are a number of things like this in the app.

Navigation works great. Love the Google maps mirroring on my Bluetooth stereo. Also love being able to search for places on Google maps with voice commands. Wish music and text worked better. Music doesn't allow you to search though Google play radio stations. App also needs capability to read text messages out loud and be able to text back via voice control.

Very nice set of features, makes operating phone while driving easier and therefore safer. One strange thing of note is that the play music interface offers a shuffle button which acts more like what you'd expect a shuffle button to do than what is available in play music. The weird part is that it carries over into play music when not launched through Android auto which means there's no way to turn shuffle off in the normal play music interface without going back in to the Android auto interface. Hopefully they'll your the standard play music interface in the future.

I have a Note 3 and 09 CRV EX. Overall I like it. A little slow with Google maps and glitchy with initial connection. Love it when it's running smooth. Read out and create txt messages, take and make calls, play music from phone, Amazon, etc. *Revised with Note 8 and Iphone 7. Love the speed and convenience with Note 8 and Iphone 7. Note 8 speed, detail, and accuracy better with Google Maps vs Iphone that uses TomTom. In addition, Google Play and Amazon music gives you online streaming music vs ITunes playlist. Comes down to preference, but I get the best of both worlds. That said, Note 8 with Google setup is the way 2 go.

It's really great to have navigation on a car that doesn't have it from the factory. The phone integration is really nice for calls and texts through voice control too. The traffic data always seems to under-estimate how long it's going to take by 10-20 minutes though. Maybe traffic just gets worse during my commute and it can't keep up.

To hook up and use the hand free devices of my phone it works well. To make everything else on my phone like read messages that are text or email it doesn't do so well. So it does do somethings better than others similar apps. I just don't think it's all that and a bag of chips. However your mileage may vary

Lots of good features. 3 improvements needed though: - you need to be able to get out of it more easily when needed - you should be able to set apps as default (like Waze for directions), instead of having to select them every time. - need better link with the calendar. It almost always wants to take me to the appointments of the previous day.

I wish that my Bluetooth aux adapter could send call audio to my speakers while I used the phone's mic. I really like the traffic report option when I'm travelling to and from work. It's saved me several minutes waiting in traffic. I wish that the music app could have a swipe-to-skip, that way I wouldn't have have to guess where the skip button is and I wouldn't have to look down at my phone. I have no desire of giving a song a thumbs up while I'm driving, so getting rid of that screen might help.

Bluetooth works until the call connects then stops using my Silverado speakers forcing me to talk directly through the phone. Navigation function is really the reason I downloaded the app. If Bluetooth doesn't work correctly I will probably uninstall Android Auto. Recently reinstalled app and newest version works as I had hoped. No more issues with Bluetooth and launches only when I want.

Sometime it takes long time to start with the phone. It freeze once in a while switching from Google map to waze. It can have better display and icons that doesn't look cheap. The weather could be better and not only showing the little msg from your phone. Lots of areas that can improve but overall it a very good app.

This app is great. I love the enlarged and simple interface for maps and Spotify. However, removing a star for a less robust version of Google voice. For example, you can't ask google to start a playlist from a song in Spotify when Auto is open. Also removing a star for a common bug where navigation voice will not play through bluetooth audio even though Spotify or other music apps will.
