Ratings and reviews

The maps portions works great. However, when in portrait mode, "buttons" at the bottom of the app won't work - they do not register my touch. It is not my phone, the entire screen works fine when not in Google maps. But when in portrait mode the "start" button to start a trip won't register being touched, and "done" at the end of my trip won't work. This is very inconvenient and frustrating.

Honestly, the latest version is bad. Half the time, once I start a navigation, I have to manually end the trip. Otherwise, the app will keep routing you to your destination. The other half, I have to keep closing and opening the app to allow typing functions and add trips or look up places nearby. Also, most of the trips don't give you specific routing in apartment complex or shopping Plaza. It will end in the middle of the road, leaving you looking around for the place you're trying to go to.

As mentioned in another review, the latest update of Maps is broken. App freezes and I can't minimize it. I have to swipe it closed and reset. All the time! I have un-installed and re-installed the app, same behavior persists. I will update my rating when the issue is resolved, because I've used it for well over a decade with zero problems, and quite enjoy the lists, pins, and terrain view.
