Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so that you can use the app in the office, at home or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number-based calls use the standard minutes from your mobile phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when travelling internationally).

Ratings and reviews

Horrible -- this app sends incomplete messages, but deceives you into believing that it has sent all of a text you've just written and sent to a contact... only if you happen to check that same sent text 20 or more minutes later, it'll show you that only a fraction of it was sent. So, Google voice; why is it that you screw with your user's text messages like this? At least other messaging systems notify you when you've reached the maximum limit of characters that can be sent per text; you don't.

TURN OFF THE STUPID touchtone keypad sounds. I turned them off A LONG TIME AGO but now they're back on. I don't want them! ---------- update, reply to Google: I tried that it did not work, the touchtones are happening during the call. Dialing is OK. And force-stop did not work! BTW, until google fixes the play store to allow links in your replies to users don't bother putting them there. They're useless on mobile. And barely useful on web.

Have used Google voice for over a decade on my laptop & years by phone. When installing the app, a pop up wants permission to access & add all of my contacts. There is no way to close the pop up or option to deny this, only an ok button. I do NOT want Google to access my contacts or add them. I want to choose what contacts I add. So I closed the app. Is there anything on the app page i can choose to not allow this? Why make it so difficult for someone to choose what they want?
