Ratings and reviews

The Google messages application is too slow to be very useful. I'm constantly waiting more than a few seconds for the Google messaging application to load when I occasionally check messages. Messaging is just such a basic phone service that performance is critical. There should be a way to disable any background applications that are not basic services or are not critical to the current task. These should preempt everything and performance issues otherwise is just poor engineering.

Update: Followed the generic response Google sent below. Didn't solve issue. Made it WORSE!!! It seems like contacts and numbers chosen at random are unable to receive my texts! For example, my boss can text me but I can not respond to him. I can only call him. I can't respond to some confirmation texts or reply "stop" to some marketing texts. This is very frustrating and makes the app useless. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which numbers I can't respond to and no solution either

For me, I think it's Not half as good as the now discontinued Samsung Messaging (for texts). Features are harder to find, the Samsung program seemed more accommodating, and the dang thing doesn't even have the feature of having its own Notification tone. It's the notication in your phone but for your e-mail as well. So when you hear the Notification sound, you have to check to see if you received a text, or an e-mail. The pre-scheduling feature isn't as good either. I'm just not a fan of it.
