Still not as good as the older one, but... Google: you made it easier to compare ETA between walking and driving?? Seriously??! (Protip: driving is faster) Howabout making it easier to manually switch between driving routes on the fly? Also, the map draws WAY too much data for my 2-hour trips between S.F. and Sacramento.
Excellent GPS App Perfect GPS for light and basic use. Good set of features, and integrates well with voice commands. Say, "Okay Google... navigate to Los Angeles Coliseum." No hands-on needed, it just goes. If you commute or drive long distances, Waze is better for that. If you are a delivery driver, check out an app called Road Warrior. A professional driver, a dedicated GPS is still worth buying. Google Maps does the basics, and does them well.
Used to be 5 stars... I miss the original app prior to the major redesign. Hate that I can't see layers like gas stations along my route without exiting navigation. Lots of other features seem to have disappeared. Navigation closes if I switch to another app (before it used to continue to work in the background). Performance is poor.
Poor Navigation is poor, doesnot show accurate location, sometime gps satellite connectivity takes too long. :-@
Google maps Really useful mapping software, with location finder, and excellent as a route planner. Saved my bacon more than a few times.
