The Google One app lets you automatically back up your phone and manage your Google cloud storage. • Automatically back up the important things on your phone, like photos, contacts and messages using your free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google account. If you break, lose or upgrade your phone, you can restore everything to your new Android device. • Manage your existing Google account storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.
Upgrade to a Google One membership to get even more: • Get as much storage as you need for your important memories, projects and digital files. Choose the plan that works best for you. • Get extra protection for your phone with a VPN that encrypts your online activity and helps keep your personal information safe • Get exclusive access to Google experts for help with all of Google’s products and services. If you have a question or need assistance, our team of Google experts is just a tap away. • Share your storage with up to 5 additional people. This gives each person access to more storage from your plan, but not access to each other’s files.

In general, this app is fine. The premium features are good on paper, but there is something buggy about the VPN feature. Almost everytime I have it enabled for a long period, it locks up and stays enabled. I try to disable from the quick settings, but the VPN notification does not go away. My connectivity starts to get worse. The only way to reset this is to restart the phone.

After months of repeated failed attempts at backing up my device success! Looks like whatever the issue was the most recent update resolved the issue. There's been no change with my firmware, amount of storage, or anything else recommended by the suggested article. Glad to see the issue resolved. My rating has been adjusted accordingly. Thanks.

The VPN refuses to turn on on Android. Works fine on the PC but will not even toggle on. Cleared data, logged back in, same issue. Rebooted, same issue. Installed two other VPNs and both worked as they were supposed to. I barely use any storage and paid for the year for VPN access when needed. I realized it didn't work anymore the first time in months I needed to use it while getting my car repaired.
