Ratings and reviews

I did what you suggested by retraining voice with Google. It's still bad. Used to be so good. Now it can't even get turning a light on right. For instance, "turn on the kitchen" works on one hub but the another hub says it didn't how to help with that. Plus the accuracy sucks now. No way I'm buying the new hub. Was going to but not with the assistant being so stupid now.

Usually helpful, but the fact is that no matter what I do to get trending searches feature to go away, it simply will not go away. I don't want it; I didn't want discover when they added it. I do everything in settings that points toward disabling it and yet the Google app and the home screen widget both shove trending searches into my face every time. It's obnoxious and apparently a widespread issue, so it really needs to be fixed already.

Overall the google app is fine, it does what it says on the tin. However, the updates that they push out keep breaking settings I've kept for ages. The most recent cases are that despite having the "autocomplete with trending searches" setting turned off, I keep getting shown trending searches. This issue persists through reboots, uninstalls, etc. The second is jumping to and highlighting "key search result snippets" instead of loading at the top of the webpage in the app. Frustrating stuff.

What's new

• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• It's easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
