Ratings and reviews

Google search bar should always be at the top. I scroll down the results page and I'll hit the bar by accident and the search pops up and interrupts my scrolling because the bar is at the bottom. It's not easy to use. It's not user-friendly and it's not intuitive at all. It also covers up search results. This is the 2nd app I have that has put search bar at the bottom. Amazon moved it back to the top. Stop trying to make bottom search bars happen.

My search results go away every time I switch apps. I want to be able to switch back and forth and have my search results remain displayed. Not only does it lose my search results but it seems to close the search app entirely, forcing me to go back to the home screen and click the search bar rather than tabbing back and forth. This is extremely poor for workflow/ research. Why make this change after doing it right for so many years?

Useful filters and sorting options for looking up locations are now gone for some reason. I used to be able to search "food near me," then select filters like "open now" and "sort by distance" and I would receive a useful list of currently open restaurant nearby sorted by distance. Now those options seem to be gone, and manually searching for "food near me open now sort by distance" only brings up a Denny's and nothing else as if that is the only restaurant in existence.

What's new

• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• It's easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
