Ratings and reviews

The backup codes provided in the security area of Google settings DO NOT WORK AT ALL. Over the last 6 - 8 months, I have twice had to attempt to use the one-time backup codes because the second step verification on my cell phone would not come through (an entirely different issue with Google sign in). I tried multiple times with multiple codes and it kept telling me that the codes were wrong. They were not wrong. I was unable to access my account when I needed it for work. Not a new issue.

Song/sound search just doesn't work anymore. No updates fix it either from Google or Samsung (currently on 6.1). It immediately says, "unable to search," and I've tried everything. There's nothing wrong with my phone; I've had it checked, and the solutions do nothing. I used sound search a lot, and Shazam doesn't have a search by humming. I'm not sure what to do anymore.

The April 4, 2024, update was disastrous. It deleted the Snooze Alarm, which I count on. After sleeping through my alarm for two days, and unable to access any Snooze alarm controls from the Clock app, I went into my phone's Settings > Google and eventually was able to set it up again. Somebody failed to maintain user clock/alarm existing settings when they created the update. Not cool, guys.

What's new

• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• It's easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
