Ratings and reviews

I love having music when I want it, but this app doesn't close when you tell it to. It just sits in the background sucking up battery and data even if it isn't being used. And that's on a Pixel device. The only way to stop it is to force close it from the settings menu which is a huge pain to remember each time. Hopefully this gets fixed one day. Please don't ask me to troubleshoot it for you Google people. Your support is terrible, requiring a week of work before you even confirm the issue.

This app is mostly okay. It could be stellar with just a couple quality of life changes. My biggest pet peeve is not being able to select lyric styles. I much prefer the scrolling lyrics, but I've had certain songs switch to static lyrics randomly. Also, the lyrics are not always accurate and there's no option to submit corrections. Lastly, on a couple of albums it has flagged every song as having explicit lyrics, when only one song does. It still needs work.

YouTube music is my go to app. But lately I have been thinking of breaking it off with them because of their wonky way of handling algorithms. I can't figure out why certain songs are played ad nauseum and some of my favorites never even pop up in quick picks or forgotten favorites. Same with just letting the app play, it seems to have an issue predicting appropriate music or expanding on my preferences in a way that makes sense.
