I am relatively new to using this app, about a month or so. I do like that the map function works just like on my phone. The music options are great. Mine defaults to Pandora, but that can be personalized to your preference. The music does cut off a bit at times. Perhaps I need a better cord, perhaps not. In my case I need to keep it connected via USB since the wireless option is not functional in my case. I am in a 2020 model and it appears I missed the wireless capabilities by a year or 2.

Pretty decent in a 2019 MG. I would have said the opposite when I had a 7 yr old phone and it used to cut out, was slow and frustrating (which I imagine is because the phone carries the load). It certainly helps to have a modern device. I personally find the UI quite busy when compared to Apple Car, not quite as pretty and on a functional level, Android Auto can be a tad laggy on my vehicle. Apart from that, it functions well and has a reasonable number of apps to hoose from, of which I use 3-5

My wife turns on the car, my phone connects and blasts whatever music I listened to last. There's no way to NOT automatically connect, and there's no option to NOT auto play music. These are the simplest, most obvious low hanging fruit features that could be implemented. Google's had these requests for many years. But they've chosen to do nothing. That's why AA will never be good.
