Ratings and reviews

All credit to the content creators, but the app itself is a horrible buggy mess. Some videos are literally unplayable and there have been several instances where I'd have to restart my entire phone to get YouTube off of my screen. There's also an insane cesspool of ads. The app's pumped with more ads than ever. Update: Ads increased yet again, including trying to force you to click on them by removing the "x" button in several previous locations. Use your computer, and use an adblocker.

I don't know why, but when I leave the app and go back in, even after I turn off my phone and turn it back on, when the videos I'm watching are at 4K, it drops frames like crazy!!! It literally requires me to close the YouTube app and go back into the video I was watching when it happened!!! I have a 2024 Motorola Edge, for God's sake!!! This phone may be a mid-range phone, but it can play 4K 60 FPS video!!! 500 characters just isn't enough to express my disappointment. Please fix it! One star.

YouTube shivers shorts in front of you no matter what. It's annoying. I want to watch content from the creators I enjoy and have subscribed to but the app tries to get me to watch the YouTube shorts at every turn. All the want are mindless consume-next-content zombies and it's insulting. On top of that, the app frequently bugs out and I have to minimize then close the video I'm watching then open the video again to be able to finish something already in progress. And it's all related to shorts.
