update July 16 of "bug fixes" actually introduced bugs for users that use 3-button nav. can't sort results by distance. sort buttons are under the 3 button nav. Messy routing, annoying alerts (yes it's still under construction, we have 2 seasons, winter and construction, alerts to confirm things are annoying). the created_at for reviews should also display the whole date not relative time. 1 year ago is not helpful. sometimes knowing the month is important for some locations.

Same issue as others have pointed out, the app is so unreliable that it's unusable. It shows as offline most of the time, even when the connection and other apps are fine. Even though I have downloaded offline maps nothing works, it doesn't even show my location! I had to use the Uber app to see my location and which way to go. There shouldn't be a need to have a backup map app!?!! Clearing cache and reinstall doesn't help, at this point I can leave it uninstalled. enshittification

July 2026 Update: Worse! Now, the directions are convoluted, doubling the distance or actual time to travel (e.g. a 3 min. trip GM now routes as 6)! Update: Sometime around January 2026, the starting location in my Google Maps (GM) app has been wrong. For example, when starting from my "Home", some random address nearby comes up. This never used to happen. I've cleared the app cache, verified that my location features are accurate & turned on in the GM app, etc. Nothing seems to fix the issue.
