Ratings and reviews

I listen to audio books while driving for my job. All I can say is google play books is by far the best audio app hands down. The voice actors are top notch. The app itself funcions perfectly. I don't have to stop the app when I stop the truck. I picks up where it left off and has givn me no trouble. Except one thing; it makes me realize how bad my other audio app are and how much they need to improve.

It's a simple app that doesn't constantly harass you to buy more or sign up for anything. 🙏 Unfortunately, the TTS feature is absolute trash. The voice is offensively bad and there aren't even any On-Screen controls to play/pause, change speed etc. As a person with dyslexia, the "read aloud" feature for ebooks is absolutely vital. This is a deal breaker. If Google isn't even going to stay up with the most basic accessibility features they could at least partner with Speechify.

Does what it's supposed to do without issues most of the time. I never really used it to buy anything, but their books are fairly priced, possibly less than a physical copy in some cases. I prefer either going to the library or buying a physical copy at bargain prices, but whenever I want an e-book, this is 1 of the first places I look. Definitely can give Kindle a run for its money, but it depends on your preference & all. Excellent overall... 👍🏻😍
