The Halifax Mobile Banking app can do everything you’d expect, maybe a little extra. And you can use it whenever and wherever you want. So you can crack on if you’re on the bus, at work or simply can’t tear yourself away from the telly.

GETTING STARTED
New to this app? No problem. Just register your device and you’re ready to go. For this you’ll need:
- An up-to-date phone number registered with us
- Halifax UK personal account
- Online Banking username, password and memorable information (you can create these in the app)
- A device that isn’t rooted.

CONTACTING YOU
We won't contact you any more than normal if you use the app. But please stay alert to email, text messages or phone calls that appear to be from us. Criminals may try to trick you into giving them sensitive personal or account information. We'll never contact you to ask for these details. Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title and surname and either the last 4 digits of your account number or the last part of your postcode '*** 1AB'. Any text messages we send you will come from Halifax .

Please note that features that require the use of your device’s phone capability, such as Call us, won’t work on tablets.

Generally the app is pretty good. However, the cheque deposit function is near to unusable. The app now controls photo capture and spends its time telling you to hold the phone flat and level. The only way to get it to take a photo is to hold the phone in a portrait orientation tilted slightly upwards. It then rejects your photo about 5times till you get lucky and one is accepted. The previous cheque deposit worked far better with manual photo capture

Apps works really well when you are logged in and it's getting updated a fair bit too. My biggest problem with this app is when you have logged out completely and when you try to sign back in and you TRY to ACCEPT the TERMS and CONDITIONS! say for example having a new phone or a reinstall of the app it's always saying sorry seems to be a technical fault please try again later. And from that point it's 50/50 if it works. A massive inconvenience.

Impossible to login using thumbprint, after briefly flashing up failure of thumbprint it goes straight to memorable data entry. This is very frustrating as every other app using this login method, ten at the last count, works perfectly all the time. I've seen other reviews stating the same thing. Are you intending to fix this problem? NB I'm using the latest update of 3/6/24. Phoned support and they say there's been no report of the problem!
