Gemini opt in is rolling out to select devices and countries - opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

Peice of art app, I use it in literally "impossible to hold phone situations" and never let me down. It's a little hard when screen is locked though, when using some features but it's a great buddy and a companion, especially when driving. Sometimes I ask a question and the data is that informative and recited in a way that you get it all. If you set your home location in Google map and busy driving , I advice to try this command as a start" navigate me home"

Just downgraded this to 3 stars because now when I open it, the microphone is off. Whereas I used to be able to open it and say what I wanted. Now I have to do the extra step of pressing the microphone icon. (and it has nothing to do with training my voice model as suggested by the developers. It's simply that the mic is no longer on by default when opened)

If we're being pushed to use Gemini, just tell us so we can learn it before Assistant is gone. My app won't even open, which is why I'm here. I used to love Assistant. Lately, it gets more things wrong. It recognizes my voice when it feels like it. I give up on trying to get Android Auto to work and just use my car's navigation. It's sad to see Assistant seemingly being dropped after being so excited to see those Assistant commercials on tv. A minor thing, but still. Fix... something.
