Ordinarily I have very good experiences using this app. Always dependable, works well with voice, seamless transition from light to dark. Yesterday however, at highway speeds my screen went dark and it was impossible to see in broad daylight. Twice I pulled over to try to revert the colors to daytime mode. Hopefully this is a one time glitch.

I always heavily relied on Google maps. However, lately, it has been malfunctioning. I thought possibly it was my phone, so I troubleshoot. I see no difference in app performance & begin hearing similar complaints from friends/family. I then discovered an entire reddit thread with an overwhelming number of issues related to mine. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to trust Google maps. It adds time to drives, taken me on unnecessary tolls & worst of all, stops working when I need it most.

Maps is great but a few things I've noticed are: If there is a toll, like the GW bridge, you have to constantly FIGHT it to not bring you over the bridge or else it reroutes you, even if there is a better route! Second; In 2024 I imagined I'd be able to drop a pin while in navigation, I've seen iphone users be able to do it but not on androids. Last; not able to back out of maps easily anymore because it clears the menu bar at the bottom to be able to do so.
