Ratings and reviews

This is a terrific navigation app, and it gets better and better all the time. Google keeps improving it over the years. Notably, I was stuck driving home in Florida at night, a major highway was closed. At first I used Waze and hope that it would find an alternative route. Waze just kept taking me in circles. But Google Maps smartly calculated and alternative route for me to take and I got home in no time. Thanks Google!

Directions, maps, controlling orientation or zoom level is not facilitated. Zoom level is not as reactive as it should. Paper maps may make a come back. There is no ability to change transportation method when the app receives directions request from 3rd party. Even in app, one must back out to the From..To to make the selection. For months now this app will finish a route and never allow you to do more than scroll the map, can't even get the "done" buttoned to finish and allow me to start another route, need to restart app Everytime. I even got a new more updated phone and still have the same issue. App has sucked for a while now, definitely worth grabbing a different navigation system that actually works consistently.
