Don't bother, it won't work. I installed this to "activate" a first gen Chromecast that worked perfectly well. After an infuriating workflow that requires me to turn off wifi, knowing full well I'll have to turn it on again, all I get is "could not communicate with your Chromecast." No additional troubleshooting, no attempts to explain the problem. I even factory reset the thing, to no avail. So don't waste your time. This app doesn't do anything.

Confusing on why this app exists. I had a problem of when I connected to my Google speaker, I would start the process and then it said it wasn't connected. I figured out, after you turn Wi-Fi off and the app has found the device, turn your Wi-Fi back on before starting setup. It worked for me. But yeah, no instructions on that. Kind of a dumb app.

Utter garbage, doesn't work - if you're trying to connect to anything and it tells you to turn off wifi, go back and turn it on before you start the connection process, or it will say you can't connect to your Chromecast. This is a known issue and months old, and could easily have been fixed by now. I had to call support and get jerked around until I finally found this solution myself...
