Unfunctional, and always has been. The app has never once, for the past 5 years, allowed me to directly upload a file to it. I always, and I really do mean always, have to open drive in my mobile browser, set it to Desktop mode, and upload the files from there. The app has never once allowed me to upload a file; it gets stuck in the "uploading .." phase with the spinning circle, never gives me a time estimate, never gives me a percentage, etc. Even for 1kb files; it won't upload anything.

Once u have no bytes, u r out of luck. U can't open your stored data. Yet if u dont arrange your settings, a lot of your data will b gobbled up by GMAIL. U can't do a thing; it's as if u are cornered to BUY MORE storage. So back up your data and be ready in case ur data is completely eliminated. Question? If i cancel my current storage plan, does this mean I can't use Google Photos at all? If so, then immediately eliminate the app, but CAUTION backup backup backup!!!

Hi, Vanessa! If your storage plan gets cancelled, everything in Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail will still be accessible, but you won't be able to create or add anything new over to the 15 GB storage limit. Here's the link to learn more: https://goo.gle/47qeA9D. Hope this helps.

I can tell you that Gdrive is satisfactory if all you are doing is backing up to it. Try to pull the data! It's multistep, and that's not easy. You are limited on how much bandwidth you can use. No more than 60MB/sec to pull data down - save it - and then move it to storage on your own. They (Google) have made it so hard to do anything as they want you to continue to buy storage. Don't. Buy your own storage and edit your photographs and video's - keep what's most important.
