I'm mostly happy with the Google "suite," the only thing that bothers me is the strange behavior of Google Assistant. Normally I can hold power+vol up and I get the standard voice recognition. However, after an indeterminate amount of time (couple days to a couple months), the button combo brings up the assistant bar, with a mic icon that has to be tapped to begin listening. The only fix is to uninstall all updates, then reinstall all updates. Very strange.

The swipe right app on home screen once provided useful info and articles now it's just ads and click bait. Dropping to one star and disabling this feature in settings. Second How search should work? This my only gripe about it. When I/you are typing in a query the first drop down prediction should only be to complete the word you are currently typing not an expected two or three word phrase of the day. I find this to be unproductively annoying.

I don't know what you all did, but now, when attempting to do a voice search, it doesn't complete what is said and stops listening almost as soon as it's started. Giving no time to speak. Even when speaking fast. To your response, I don't use "Hey google" and never have. I use the hold home button, and now the added step of hitting the microphone since circle to search was added. In any case, it has always worked fine until today. I've cleared cache and rebooted, and it's still the same issue.

What's new

• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• It's easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
