Ratings and reviews

I was an avid user of the old Google News and Weather app. Google seems to want to position News as its replacement, only it falls flat in that regard. If you want to scroll through the headlines to catch up on the news and interesting articles, this app isn't for you. If you enjoy scrolling through screen filling images for 1% of the content density of the old app and suffer crippling RSI as a result, this app is perfect. Also ads mixed in with articles which completely break the flow. I'll keep looking for something to replace News and Weather with.

The app itself looks good, however for quite some time now I've been noticing a rather annoying issue which constantly interrupts the reading with refresh and scrolls back to the top of news list. After 2 or 3 of such interruptions you have absolutely no desire to continue reading using the app as scrolling back down to the article you were reading again and again takes all the fun out of the process. Would highly appreciate if the UX issue is fixed. Thanks!

I use Google news everyday, it has a nearly perfectly personalized news feed. I only have one problem: if I'm reading an article and there is a video I want to watch, I start the video and then tilt my phone. Sadly, that leads to some kind of refresh of the site and I have to scroll down to the video. This even happens when I'm in full screen and then tilt my phone, please fix this!
