Ratings and reviews

Now 6 years after bug reported, no attempt to address it. Either they don't know how to fix it or don't care; which tells you all you need to know about the quality of Google developers. Embarrassing for anyone purporting to be a developer. Nav. without data connection (even w/downloaded offline map) & device having GPS, flat out does NOT work/fails in stupid ways. Maybe TEST it w/o a data connection! Error "you have data issues". No, Google, I don't have data issues, you have coding issues.

They must've hired that guy that botched the apple maps launch years ago, that's the only reason I would believe for the drop in quality over the last few months. Route suggestions have been inconsistent and generally bad. Driving in an area I know, I'll see the map suggestion and know it's not the best route so I'll go my own way and magically shave off 2-3 minutes, then maps has the audacity to tell me it saved me time. That on top of the frequent crashes and the app refusing to open

My app keeps closing? No updates available. Please fix!!! This is a real safety concern. I was in the middle of an unfamiliar route in an unfamiliar area and it won't work. Haven't had many problems until now. Yes, I've turned my phone on and off. Yes, my phone is up yo date. Yes, I'm on 5G. No, I was not using wifi. I am about to uninstall and reinstall. Fingers crossed. Update: nope. Uninstall and re download did NOT work.
